Daydreaming is a controversial topic as people think it helps in exploring new doors through the use of imaginations. Imagination is a great tool when a man wants to explore new possibilities, think of the consequences of an action, visualization of the future.

Daydreaming is when a person loses attention from the present realities and starts to enjoy the fruits in his daydreams because in his experience he doesn't want to go through the process of achieving his goal and he just wants the results. This can be termed wishful thinking.

In our dreams, we may get the pleasure of having our dream fulfilled but it has no impact after the dream is broken. It is a temporary dopamine effect that lasts until the dream lasts. We are so consumed in our dream that it looks greater than the reality itself. But when the dream ends, we wake up and find that our desires are still unfulfilled, it brings some amount of emptiness to our lives, one may lose his self-esteem as he wishes but don’t give what it takes, also one may feel miserable as he had lost a lot of time dreaming that could have used to make the dream into reality.

How to deal with this issue? It is very difficult as the people who are in these tendencies mostly don’t know the problem, it is so rooted in their habits that it is nearly impossible to figure out. So first look at your symptoms, are you avoiding reality and losing your focus? what are you thinking? This will come with practice, meditations and yogic practice in life can make things easy as we are detaching ourselves from our thoughts, so we are more powerful than our thoughts in these times.

This needs to be consciously observed if we are losing our attention in tough times this means we are escaping, our mind does this to escape the present realities but let me tell you if your life is going through a crisis how is an escape going to help you in this situation, in fact in these situations we need our full focus and mental stability to make things work for us.

If we are using daydreaming for some leisure it's okay but if we are consumed by it, it will make our lives miserable. We can better use our imaginations to visualize our future and take workable actions, but this is a conscious and persistent effort.
